Aviara Breathing in Los Alamitos
Breathing optimization
Breathing is the foundation of your health, energy and vitality. Aviara Breathing restores healthy nasal breathing, good tongue posture and efficient breathing mechanics through careful evaluation and retraining.
Why breathing comes first
Every moment begins with a breath. Yet many people develop dysfunctional breathing patterns without knowing it, and those patterns quietly affect sleep, posture, energy and nervous system balance.
- Breathing regulates oxygen delivery and cellular energy
- Nasal breathing supports sleep and nervous system balance
- Mouth breathing alters facial development and posture
- Healthy breathing reduces inflammation and supports longevity
What we treat
Your evaluation looks at your breathing patterns, nasal airflow, posture and how well your diaphragm engages. It is for children who breathe through the mouth, adults living with fatigue or anxiety, and anyone who wants better sleep, focus and energy.
- Mouth breathing
- Upper-chest breathing
- Low CO₂ tolerance
- Nasal obstruction patterns
- Fatigue and poor focus
- Sleep-disordered breathing
How we retrain the breath
Treatment draws on several Aviara divisions at once, so the way you breathe, rest your tongue and hold your body can improve together.
- Nasal breathing retraining
- Diaphragmatic breathing therapy
- Myofunctional therapy
- Cranio-postural stabilization
- Lifestyle and inflammation support
Questions we often hear
What does shallow breathing look like?
Shallow breathing is when both the inhale and the exhale are rapid and shorter than normal, at the same pace. It can bring lightheadedness or chest discomfort, and rapid breathing can build if it does not settle.
What can I do when it is hard to breathe?
Breathing out through pursed lips helps slow and deepen each breath. At night, lying on your side with your back straight, a pillow under your head and another between your knees can make breathing easier than lying on your back. Our breathing instructor can also teach you techniques for your own pattern.
