Aviara Posture in Los Alamitos

Cranio-postural therapy

Posture, breathing and balance meet in one place. Aviara Posture restores alignment of the cranium, spine, diaphragm and jaw to support efficient breathing and movement.

Posture begins with breath

Posture reflects how the body adapts to breathing patterns and structural stress. When the head shifts forward or the rib cage loses alignment, the airway can narrow and the diaphragm may move less freely.

  • Forward-head posture
  • Neck and upper-back tension
  • Rib cage dysfunction
  • Postural imbalance affecting the airway

How we treat it

Care moves from a functional posture evaluation, with structural imaging and breath analysis, to an alignment plan, a series of therapeutic alignment visits and finally neuromuscular stabilization.

  • Cranial balancing
  • Sacro-occipital alignment
  • Neurofascial tension release
  • Craniosacral fascial therapy
  • Scar tissue release therapy

Who it is for

Posture care fits many stages of life, and it often works alongside our TMJ and orthodontic care.

  • Children with forward-head posture
  • Adults with chronic tightness
  • TMJ and orthodontic patients
  • Anyone who wants to move and breathe better

Questions we often hear

How does posture affect breathing?

When the head shifts forward or the rib cage loses alignment, the airway can become more restricted and the diaphragm may not move as well. Better posture creates the space and support for easier breathing.

Can poor posture contribute to TMJ problems?

Yes. The position of the head, neck and shoulders influences how the jaw sits and moves. When posture is off, it can strain the muscles and joints around the jaw and add to TMJ tension, discomfort or instability.

What is forward-head posture, and why does it matter?

It is when the head sits in front of the shoulders instead of balanced over the spine. It can increase neck and upper-back tension, affect jaw function and reduce airway space.

What happens during an Aviara Posture evaluation?

We look at how your body is aligned and how that alignment affects breathing and movement, including posture patterns, breath mechanics, structural relationships and areas of tension. The findings shape a plan for lasting improvement.

How is posture connected to airway health?

The position of the head, jaw, tongue, rib cage and diaphragm all influence how easily air moves. Improving structural alignment can support a more open airway and more efficient breathing.
