Aviara MyoFascial in Los Alamitos
Myofunctional therapy and frenuloplasty
Freedom of movement in the mouth shapes how the airway works and develops. Aviara MyoFascial brings together orofacial myofunctional therapy, whole-body fascial balance and, when it is needed, a precise frenuloplasty.
Function shapes form
Healthy function shapes healthy form. Our aim is to restore good tongue posture, breathing, swallowing and cranio-postural alignment, because each one influences the others.
- Tongue function influences airway development
- Oral restrictions affect breathing, feeding and speech
- Myofunctional therapy improves facial growth and sleep
- Fascia connects the tongue, neck, posture and diaphragm
What we treat
Your evaluation looks at tongue mobility, swallowing, oral habits and neuromuscular coordination.
- Tongue-tie and lip-tie
- Mouth breathing
- Poor swallowing patterns
- TMJ strain from muscle imbalance
- Infant feeding challenges
How we treat it
Some patients do best with therapy alone. Others need a functional frenuloplasty to release a restriction that limits movement, with therapy before and after the release to support it.
- Myofunctional therapy
- Functional frenuloplasty
- Pre- and post-release therapy
- Cranial and fascial balancing
Questions we often hear
Is frenuloplasty always necessary?
Not always. Some patients benefit most from therapy alone, while others need a functional frenuloplasty to release restrictions that limit movement. The right approach depends on how severe the restriction is, the symptoms, and how the tongue and surrounding muscles work together.
What is fascia?
Fascia is a thin, dense web of connective tissue, mostly collagen, that surrounds every nerve, muscle, blood vessel, bone and organ. Healthy fascia lets you bend, stretch and move. When it tightens or pulls out of position, it can form painful knots called trigger points that limit movement.
